addiction + recovery
I specialize in sitting with folks navigating addiction + recovery from substance use. My background as a residential treatment therapist in LGBTQIA+ substance use and chemsex addiction informs my approach to this work. With me, therapy is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection, awareness, and reclaiming agency - not shame.
I integrate evidence-based modalities alongside Gestalt therapy, somatic awareness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-inspired parts work to support clients in understanding the deeper patterns beneath addiction, including trauma, attachment wounds, dissociation, loneliness, and the impact of systemic oppression. I take an anti-oppressive approach to recovery, recognizing that addiction and compulsive behaviors do not happen in a vacuum, but are often shaped by experiences of marginalization, shame, disconnection, survival, and the pressure to adapt to harmful systems. Together, we explore the protective strategies that once helped you survive while building new ways of relating to yourself, your choices, your body, your desires, and others with greater honesty, agency, and self-compassion.
I view recovery as more than stopping a behavior. It can often be a process of reconnecting to yourself, reclaiming your voice, and creating a life that feels more aligned, embodied, and free.
